As a complement to our many services, Baastel offers specialized support in the development of communication management tools for our projects and programs. Baastel has long-standing expertise in developing work plans, frameworks (logical, performance and evaluation), surveys and interview protocols, and the we excel in customizing these tools for each user’s particular needs.
Through extensive work in monitoring and evaluation, Baastel has acquired solid experience in management tool design, including logical frameworks, evaluation matrices and more. These tools are supported by performance indicator applications that accurately measure specific situational changes. Our experts are experienced in the design of simple but effective performance indicators that use the principles of results-based management theory. We train our clients in the planning and use of the best indicators available for their particular sector and offer support in the use of these indicators for data collection and reporting.
Evaluation is the core of Baastel’s services. We are a major player in the area of national and international project monitoring and evaluation, regardless of scale, scope, context, or sector. Through our team of highly qualified experts, Baastel carries out assignments with passion, dedication and professionalism every step of the way. As an international organization, Baastel leads evaluation missions to Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and the Middle-East. All of our monitoring and evaluation techniques are based on state-of-the-art results-based management methods, as set out by the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OEDC).
Projects and programs, whether related to adapting to climate change, development or other, must have a monitoring and evaluation process so that quality can be controlled on an ongoing basis and problems solved as they occur. Moreover, it is essential that monitoring and evaluation be conducted by a neutral, unaffiliated party. Baastel’s outstanding reputation in the field is built on a record of international and national successes, and expertise that is backed by attention to transparency and neutrality.
The monitoring and evaluation of capacity building relies on the in-depth analysis of training needs, the development of management tools that are specific to capacity building, and the use of performance measurement tools that provide a greater understanding of the changes that affect capacity – both during and after project completion. Baastel has extensive capacity building monitoring and evaluation experience founded on a thorough understanding of the content, context and goals established by the stakeholders. We have particular expertise in the measurement of capacity-building outcomes using our specially designed surveys and individual/group interviews.
Information communication technologies (ICT) now make it possible to efficiently track and report consolidated results. However, due to the proliferation of information systems within organizations, consolidated reporting can be complicated.. In addition, international development organizations work in different locations and fields, presenting an assortment of obstacles to the design and implementation of results-based management information systems. Baastel’s IT professionals have designed and implemented results-based management information systems for various organizations in a multitude of sectors. Development of an efficient, effective consolidated reporting system is a multi-disciplinary job, so our professionals work closely with colleagues in specific program areas, as well as results-based management and social science research specialists.
Over the years, Baastel has successfully completed hundreds of specific evaluation assignments. From the evaluation of a tool or managerial practice, to corporate and business procedures or any type of project, we can count on our team of evaluation experts whose impartiality and rigour set them apart in the field. These experts know how to meet their clients’ specific evaluation needs in all of Baastel’s areas of expertise. Project and program decision makers benefit from the findings and recommendations of each evaluation.
